Thomas Johnson or “TJ” for short. I was born and raised in Winter Garden, Florida.
After 17 years in the concrete cutting and demolition industry, I started working at JMC Concrete Cutting & Demolition as the General Manager in 2009. I remember my first job; I was working as a laborer for a concrete company in south Florida. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to pursue my career in demolition. So, I made the necessary steps to make sure that I had acquired all the knowledge and certifications needed to do my job as safely and efficiently.
Since then, I have worked on numerous high profile projects throughout 34 of the 50 states within the U.S. and Caribbean. One of my most memorable projects that I got to work on was the Elwha River Dam removal project in northwestern Washington State. This was and still is the largest dam removal project in the U.S. history.
Over the years, my dedication and hard work has led me to expand JMC Concrete Cutting & Demolition to include not only major resorts and theme park demolition, but also interior and exterior demolition projects throughout the Central Florida areas. Those projects include: the SWRF Water Treatment Expansion Project and the I-4 / I-95 Expansion Project. As the General Manager for JMC Concrete Cutting and Demolition, I have the responsibility to oversee 28 professionals; making sure they adhere to JMC’s mission statement: “To be the cleanest, safest and most recommended concrete cutting & demolition team in Central Florida”. Our goal is to maintain the trust of our customers and to gain the confidence of those that are new.
I believe that you need to work hard to achieve the results you are given. It is great feeling to see not only your hard work at its final stages, but to also work with a great team of professionals whom I am proud and confident to work with. JMC is a great family of people, and I am very fortunate to be a part of this amazing team.
