Scott Andry, born and raised in the outskirts of Milwaukee, WI. I moved to Orlando, FL in 1983, haven’t seen snow since other than my occasional trips to go to skiing.
I started JMC Concrete Cutting Inc. in 2000 with Bill and Dave. The reason we named the Company JMC is it’s the initials of our three son’s names, Jacob, Mathew, Christopher.
We started with a pick up truck, trailer, walk behind saw, and a lot of hardwork. Since then we have acquired a fleet of state of the art trucks. Along with self contained diesel powered hydraulic and electric generators, which provide each with 480VAC and the ability to cut and coredrill inside occupied buildings without the hazards of exhaust fumes. We have really built a quality company and look to continue to build on our success.
My Favorite Projects:
I was flown out to Cat Cay in the Bimini chain of islands located in the Bahamas. Our task was to core drill 6 holes into the top of a boathouse so the owner could build a Tiki hut. The flight down on a private plane would have been really great if not for the 500lbs of drilling equipment strapped into the seat behind me. Didn’t feel like a very safe way to travel with all the drilling equipment but we made it safe and sound.
The project that I will remember the most would have to be the dropping of the Mexican Cantina at Epcot, from 2 plus story structure down to 4’ of rubble in 45 minutes. After the M.E.P. contractors did the required salvage and safeing off of the utilities, JMC brought the structure down with a Kobelco SK210 excavator with grapple attachment. It gave me great satisfaction to see what we had accomplished.
My life is now happily spent running two businesses and spending time with my six daughters, two sons, two grandsons and my fiancée while still trying to find time for fishing.
Life is good for me and my family!
